OUR MISSION Volunteer South America began in response to demand from local non-profit organisations with volunteer positions on structured programs in South America. Our mission is to fill those positions by helping volunteers like you find the position that is right for you. We are committed to providing you with quality service, information and support from the moment that you book to the end of your volunteer position. We want to keep costs low so that more people volunteer and help local organisations. We believe that our adminstrative costs are the lowest. Please let us know if they are not.

WHO WE ARE Volunteer South America is a branch of Specialised Adventure Travel, Inc a Maryland based close corporation that runs trekking and climbing tours to South America. Volunteer South America is run by Robin Shackell (see pictures left). Robin spent over 4 years running British government financed development projects in Ecuador. During that time he ran over 40 projects. He worked closely with local organisations on the envrionment, street children, human rights and democracy. Robin has 21 years international experience. He lived and worked in South America for over 8 years.
